USING THE PENDULUM
In this short article I briefly cover two different methods of how to use a pendulum. Method one is for divination, the traditional use and the other in healing.
A pendulum can be made from anything, there are no hard and fast rules. My favourite is a pointed amysthest attached to a short chain finished with a bead for easy holding. The optimum length depends on the user's experience. Personally I prefer a chain length around 5 to 7 inches. Any longer and it becomes too hard to determine the sensitivity when used for healing.
For answering questions, first determine how the pendulum will offer the answers yes, no or unsure. Holding
One line of thought is thaSome experts say that when used as a yes/no tool the pendulum is a sensitive extension of your subconscious thoughts. Our conscious mind asks a question of the pendulum such as "I have lost my keys, are they in this room?" The pendulum responds with a directional swing that you recognise as a yes or no answer.
This isn't magic. The pendulum movement is a sensitive tool that displays your sub-conscious thoughts, according to many experts. The second way I know of using the pendulum is as an aid to find the precise area in need of healing. When hung around an area it reacts to the area needing healing.
I have come to realise that this second method I have described in the previous entry, rather than being an extension of the sub-conscious mind is better described as an extension of my energy field.
When I use a pendulum for healing I am in a highly sensitised state that can feel the slightest of resistance in the pendulum. The pendulum is an extension of me and my energy field. I have had my partner report a tingling sensation directly below the pendulum when I am using it. The tingling is the same sensation as she receives from my hand when actually healing. I suggest that the pendulum is simply transporting and directing that energy.
So the pendulum can be used as an extension of your sub-conscious mind, where all the psychic communication takes place. Or the pendulum can be used as an extension of your energy field, or sensitivity.
Whether as a simple yes/no tool or a healing heal the pendulum still requires a prepared user. Anyone can hold up a pendulum, but only a focussed prepared user will get good results.
Spend a few minutes stilling the mind. Focus on the intent. Ask clearly what it is you need the answer to. Use your mind to put your nerves in the end of the pendulum to feel the slightest movement. When ready, gently and slowly hang your pendulum using as little as possible of your fingers to hold it. A length of between 7 and 10 inches will give the best reactions. Longer is more difficult to control and shorter is not sensitive enough.
I hope this update has helped fill in some of the holes. If you have any questions please feel free to email me or leave as a comment here.
